Regional Labour Market Advisor - Dunedin


Permanent – Full time – Dunedin-based

 

We are looking for a smart, dynamic and highly motivated individual for the pivotal regional role of Regional Labour Market Advisor, Southern region - covering the lower South Island, from Timaru south, including Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago.

 

You will join the high performing Southern Regional Labour Market team to implement innovative and dynamic employment strategies and provide support and advice to the Regional Labour Market Manager.

This role requires exceptional relationship management and communication skills.  You will continuously build and maintain networks with local industry, employer groups and local and central government agencies to contribute to the region's employment outcomes.

 

You will proactively gather regional labour market intelligence to directly contribute to the development of longer-term regional labour market strategies.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • Established and maintained excellent relationships (or the natural ability to build authentic relationships) across a diverse range of stakeholders, businesses, industry groups, training providers and local and central government agencies.
  • A strong understanding of business needs, the challenges in the regional labour market, and the ability to plan for and identify opportunities and trends.
  • A high level of technical and professional knowledge in employment and recruitment
  • Demonstrated ability to collect data and conduct effective and meaningful trends and return on investment analysis
  • Experience in contract management and negotiations preferred
