Fixed Term/Secondment to 30 June 2020 (to cover secondment)

About the Role


This position will offer you the chance to work in a high performing team that is responsible for making sure the Ministry meets its accountability requirements, including its Annual Report, Statement of Intent, and regular reporting to Ministers and the Leadership Team, and preparing material to support reviews by Select Committees of the Estimates and the Ministry's performance.


As an experienced Advisor, you will work with others to lead the reporting of performance information to deliver insight and aid decision-making and to tell the Ministry's performance story in an engaging and innovative way.


You will provide high quality analysis and advice to Ministers, the leadership team, governance groups and senior leaders and use your relationship skills to work with business leads across the organisation.  You will also contribute to the Ministry's monitoring of three Crown Entities. You will analyse and provide advice to Ministers on the Entities' reporting, planning and accountability documents and processes, assist with Board member appointments, and develop strong relationships with key staff, including managers and Board members, to support strategic decision-making.

About the Team


Our team supports the Ministry to meet Ministerial and Government expectations.  We do this by providing technical advice to the Leadership Team about organisational strategy, performance, planning and governance.  We lead the development of internal and external strategy, planning and reporting documents, supporting the Ministry to agree priorities and report an evidence-based performance story.  We also carry out the important function of monitoring and providing advice on performance, strategic and planning issuers in relation to three Crown Entities.
