Service Manager – Rotorua

Permanent, Full Time


The Service Manager's role is varied and includes team leadership, managing day-to-day operations and people with a customer-centric approach. As a Service Manager you will play a key leadership role in an integrated service response; leading from the front and encouraging service excellence. Our five principles of Kotahitanga, Manaakitanga, Whakanui, Whakawhanaungatanga and Hononga, will guide you and your team towards success. You will lead a team of processing officers responsible for delivering exceptional service to our clients. This team manages over 50 different types of processing actions nationally. Our environment is fast paced and requires a highly driven, focused and flexible leader to manage this busy workload. You will be a key member of the Leadership Team and work with us to lead and inspire high performance and exceptional service.

In this key role, you will:  

  • provide effective leadership that enables the team to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients
  • be responsible and accountable for team performance, including the successful implementation of initiatives
  • create a welcoming and positive environment for our staff – where Manaakitanga is evident and part of normal operations
  • motivate, inspire and influence those around you to achieve/exceed targets and expectations – and then take time out to celebrate your successes, Whakanui
  • provide guidance, support and coaching to develop the leadership capability in your teams
  • build meaningful connections with other MSD teams that helps towards delivering an integrated service, Whakawhanaungatanga
  • be committed to continuous improvement - always connecting back to our purpose, Hononga, and looking for better ways of delivering our services.

You will also be involved in: 

  • performance management and providing individualised coaching
  • assisting in the completion of regular assessments
  • monitoring and reporting on performance
  • recruitment and training of new employees
  • advancing the professional development of the team
  • supporting wider MSD initiatives.

The starting remuneration for this role is from $78,027.00 to $97,534 per annum. Application along this salary scale is dependent on relevant work experience and evidenced skills.
