Job Description

Regional Labour Market Manager – Whangarei, Northland

Permanent, Full Time

 

Reporting to the Regional Commissioner Northland, the Regional Labour Market Manager is primarily responsible for identifying and facilitating the development and creation of employment opportunities for Northland Region. This involves working with a wide range of employers, industry sectors, community groups and government agencies to identify and develop labour market initiatives that contribute to employment outcomes. A key aspect of the role is to support the Regional Commissioner in the coordination of government investments in labour market development, to ensure opportunities are focused on meeting the needs of job seekers and those disadvantaged in the labour market.

 

You will proactively build and manage relationships with industry partnerships, providers and agencies to foster sustainable employment outcomes for Northland. The ability to gather and analyse labour market intelligence will help you shape agreements and make informed decisions based on evidence and trends.  This role will have a strong link with Service Delivery Employer Services team in regard to account management activities, national employment initiatives, labour market reporting and development of national strategies.

 

To be successful you will have:

 

  • A solid track record of leadership and success
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A deep understanding of labour market issues facing Northland, including the impact these issues have on Iwi, urban Māori, pacific, migrants and those disadvantaged in the local labour market
  • Sound business acumen, with the ability to make data driven decisions
  • Full clean driver's licence
  • Qualification in business or other relevant qualification is highly desirable.
