The Ministry of Social Development's Community Partnerships and Programmes Group is a newly established business unit. Our goal is to work more effectively with providers and communities by funding and supporting them to deliver services and achieving results that people and communities most need. Our ultimate goal is to make sure that we are making a real and positive difference for people and communities through the services we invest in and the support we give to communities.

The Social Action team forms part of the group. We are responsible for social campaigns designed to effect changes in attitudes and behaviour. There is a particular focus on reducing violence in our families and communities. The team leads the It's Not OK family violence campaign and works alongside the E Tu Whanau and Pasefika Proud initiatives.

Supporting the Team Leader Social Action, you will be providing specialist advice and project management support for social campaigns and initiatives.  You will have the ability to engage with our strategic partners from international experts to our key community partners. You will have responsibility for the planning, development and implementation of projects to change behaviours in areas of family violence and other priority areas for action.

You will bring leadership and subject matter expertise in approaches to social change or public health, project management experience, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. You will need lots of flexibility and an innovative approach to complex social problems and community-led responses.

This is a great role where your contribution will help to achieve positive outcomes for whānau, families and communities.
