About our Team
The Safe, Strong Families and Communities (SSFC) team sits within the Community, Partnerships and Programmes business unit at MSD. The current focus of the SSFC team is MSD's response to Sexual Violence, Family Violence and Building Financial Capability across New Zealand.

About the Role


There are two key focus areas for this position. Firstly, shaping and delivering the next phase of the Building Financial Capability (BFC) work programme. This work delivers services and products that help people, families and whānau experiencing hardship to build their financial capability and resilience. BFC takes a strengths-based approach to empower people to get control of their money, set goals and achieve long-term, sustainable change. The other responsibly for this role includes the delivery of a range of Operational Policy and Planning initiatives within the SSFC business area.


The Project Manager within the SSFC team will initiate and deliver on a range of projects and initiatives that have been allocated to the Project Delivery group, based on key MSD priorities. The Project Manager may be responsible for managing multiple projects and initiatives in parallel.

About You


We are interested in hearing from you if you are a project management professional and possess the following:


  • proven experience in managing projects and initiatives in the public sector and / or large organisations
  • strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex messages clearly and concisely
  • innovative problem-solving, a ‘can-do' attitude and an adaptable, responsive approach
  • exceptional relationship management and influencing skills to proactively direct projects
  • knowledge of or experience in, managing Budget Bids is advantageous.


Previous industry experience and knowledge is desirable. However, at a minimum, you will have a strong interest in the social sector and a passion to positively impact our communities most at risk.
