There is a great vibe across the branch where people are focused on delivering high quality policy advice in a fun, supportive team environment.  We work hard to ensure policy settings are responsive to the diverse needs and wellbeing of New Zealanders while maintaining a strong focus on staff wellbeing and personal work/life balance. We pride ourselves on investing in developing and supporting staff to reach their full potential.

What you will be doing

You may be providing advice on enhancements to the SuperGold Card, developing the policy rationale for new policy or supporting legislation through the House that will make a difference to the lives of the people we help. There will be plenty of opportunities to show case your problem solving skills and to be deployed on a range of work depending on the priorities and your skill set.  As a member of the Policy Branch you will be part of a wide variety of policy work ranging from technical legislative and regulatory changes to more strategic cross sector policy where problems need to be defined and policy options need to be developed.

As a Senior Policy Analyst you will have opportunities to expand your policy capabilities by leading on significant policy projects.  You will be supported to further develop your strategic agility across a wide range of issues and take on thought leadership roles by applying your analytical, critical thinking and relationship building skills.
