Publications and Contract Coordinator


The impact you will make: 

It's an exciting time for MSD's growing Research & Evaluation team, and we're looking for someone with solid publishing and/or communications experience to help steer our research through to publication and beyond. 


The team's research and evaluation gives MSD a better understanding of the impact of its work, and influences the services and support available to New Zealanders. You will play a vital role in ensuring the team's research work is shared and accessible. Your responsibilities:


  • Work with the team to develop and improve publishing processes and systems.
  • Proof read, edit and draft material. 
  • Develop user-friendly, engaging and easy-to-read communications content. 
  • Help coordinate and facilitate workshops / events where key information can be shared with stakeholders.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including Ministerial offices, governance groups, procurement, our media and communications team, contracting agencies and external researchers.

Skills and experience

To enable the best outcomes, you will need:


  • Strong experience in communications or publications coordination/support roles.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce engaging content. 
  • Sound editing and document layout skills. 
  • Sound project management skills.
  • Systems and process development, continuous improvement and implementation experience.
  • Confidence and tact to work with our team of social scientists and MSD's communications and engagement team.
  • To be customer centric, and able to produce content that meets stakeholders needs.
