In response to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions a Crown secretariat has been established to coordinate and align the Crowns engagement across and between agencies (including the Ministry).


MSD's Chief Advisor for the Inquiry is leading MSD's work with the secretariat and support of the Royal Commission.


About the role


The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective programme coordination and support to the Chief Advisor for MSD's input for the Inquiry into Historic Abuse in State Care & Faith-based institutions generally through the Crown secretariat.


Key skills and experience


To be considered for this position you will have:


  • Programme support and administration skills including minute taking, filing and coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent collaborative working style, trusting and trustworthy
  • Experience of working in an environment that requires a high level of discretion, sensitivity, and interpersonal interaction
  • Strong action-orientation and initiative, balanced with the ability to work with the Ministry's structures, policies and priorities
