Analyst and Principal Analyst - Employment

 
• High level specialist analytical, strategic and operational advice
• Actively engage and support Employment, Service Delivery
• Fixed Term/ Secondment to June 2020, Wellington based
 

We have two fantastic new opportunities for an Analyst and a Principal Analyst to work alongside the Group General Manager Employment to provide high quality analytical, technical, operational and strategic advice on key employment issues.

 

In these roles you will have the opportunity to support or lead critical initiatives designed for streamlining workflow and identify barriers to create positive change. You will be responsible for leading significant employment projects or policy initiatives, including those that cross unit and sector boundaries.

 

These roles are highly collaborative, and you will need the confidence and proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels across the Ministry and other Government agencies.  You will demonstrate the ability to work at pace to deliver smart solutions to complex problems and provide pragmatic and effective advice. 

 

Key to this will be the ability to identify employment labour market trends both nationally and internationally. These insights will inform and support decision making and employment reporting.

 

Key attributes we are looking for:

 

• Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to create actionable recommendations and solutions
• Understanding of employment policy and operational implementation as well as associated impacts
• Core relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Sound judgment and the ability to influence at all levels
• Comprehensive experience in producing quality data for senior leader
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and self-management
