Job Description

The TEC - Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua is a small Crown agency with a big job to do – ensuring New Zealanders have the skills and the knowledge they need to ensure lifelong success to build a great country. We lead the Government's relationship with the tertiary education sector in New Zealand and provide career services to lift the aspirations and skill bases of all New Zealanders from ages 7 to 74.

We're seeking a Project Coordinator for the Reform of Vocational Education (RoVE) programme. RoVE is the largest transformational change in the education sector in over 30 years, creating a strong, unified, sustainable system for all vocational education.

 

This is a two-year fixed-term role for an experienced Project Coordinator to work across three projects; system-wide changes, funding(policy and implementation design), and establishment of Centres of Vocational Excellence. These projects are at the establishment phase and will involve working with the TEC, the Ministry of Education and external stakeholders, making this an exciting challenge and a great time to join the programme.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Maintaining and managing the project plan.

  • Maintaining project documentation and registers including risk/issue/dependency/assumptions registers actions and decisions registers.

  • Responsible for drafting weekly project reports for PM to sign off.

  • Maintaining project resource plans, financials and accruals

  • Provide administrative support for the project including scheduling meetings and arranging travel as required

  • Provide support for the new Funding Reference Group (scheduling meetings, prepare packs, minutes/actions and decisions)

  • Comply with RoVE PMO reporting and other control requirements.

     

What can you bring?

  • Project Coordination experience, ideally working across multiple workstreams.

  • Strong stakeholder management experience.

  • Previous experience working in government agencies or similarly complex environment.

  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning and monitoring of projects

  • Operating in Agile projects utilising the Scrum methodology would be an advantage.

  • Experience using MS Project.
