About the Role

 

We would love to hear from you if you enjoy working in a complex, fast-moving environment, on media issues that really matter. MSD engages with more than 1 million New Zealanders a year.

 

This is a key position, and you'll be working with people across the organisation to manage media issues and to develop proactive stories. We'll look to you to take the lead on strategy and positioning on key matters.

 

The role is within the Media and Social Media team, with opportunities to contribute to content and stories for MSD's social media channels.

 

Skills & Experience

 

Our ideal candidate will offer:

 

  • Experience in the news media
  • Proven record in the Communications industry, particularly Government Communications
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment, juggling competing priorities in a large and complex organisation
  • Ability to quickly build trust, rapport and credibility with senior leaders
  • Experienced in risk management in the context of high-risk media issues
  • Up to date knowledge of social media environment
