Job Description

We are seeking a smart and strategic thought leader to join the new System Leadership Group at Crown Law in the role of Manager, System Advice.

The role will report to the Deputy Chief Executive, System Leadership and be responsible for the development and delivery of our new system advice function. Externally focused, the work of this team will include developing a system view of, and response to, Crown legal risk, the delivery of associated advice and resources, and the facilitation of information and insight flows between the team and its networks across government.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting new development that has the potential to significantly enhance the provision of legal services across the Crown.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • intellectual agility and enthusiasm
  • significant experience providing high quality legal advice and representation
  • public sector experience, preferably in legal and/or policy functions
  • the ability to see connections between issues and identify potential solutions, including novel and creative approaches
  • well developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • a collaborative working style that engages and influences others across Crown Law and the wider network to contribute their skills and knowledge
  • experience developing organisational capability, and shaping and delivering service excellence
  • the ability to manage, lead and inspire the System Advice team
  • a proven track record at operating at a strategic level while not losing sight of the detail.

As a new initiative, this role is available for a fixed term of two years, or as an interagency secondment.
