Job Description

Stats NZ is in a time of opportunity. We are realising, through the power of data, that we can make a real difference to people lives.

We have the ability to gain new insights from data to help focus government agencies, businesses, and organisations for the better of New Zealand and all New Zealanders.

The Stats NZ goals are to double the value of data by 2018, and to create a tenfold increase in the value of data by 2030. To do this, we need to ensure that we have the right technology solutions to support a modern, robust, and flexible data ecosystem.

Our focus is on building an open, collaborative and innovative organisation that will deliver new approaches and methodologies to the way data is used.

We will achieve this through five key focus areas:

  • Delivering IT as a Service (ITaaS)
  • Modularised enterprise
  • Future operating model
  • Enhancing enterprise collaboration
  • Data access and integrated analytics

Through digital services, we will unleash the power of data to change lives.

Right now we are seeking applications from suitably talented specialists for our Vendor Management Consultant role.

In this role you will:

  • be responsible for performing all operational vendor management activities. This includes commercial and accounting review, monitoring and analysis of vendor performance to maximise the value of the relationship and mitigate vendor risks, ensuring compliance with service level agreements
  • build and maintain effective relationships with Stats own Procurement Team - translating resourcing requirements for the delivery of digital solutions into technical specifications to form the basis of supplier agreements with vendors
  • monitor the performance of those vendors, escalating as required, and purchasing products and services on behalf of Digital Business Services under the supplier contracts in place.

Applications close Thursday, 22 March 2018.
