Job Description

Reporting and Analytics Product Owner

• Lead the analytics and insights workstream for the Heartbeat Project
• Bring your analytical skills to a client focused environment
• Fixed Term/Secondment until December 2020, Wellington based

About our Team

The Client Experience and Design group is responsible for the ensuring the voice of the client is embedded in the way we design, develop and deliver services to New Zealanders.  Through client and channel experience design we are constantly looking for ways to make it easy to deal with us.  Never satisfied with the status quo we are always looking for more effective service models and how we can deliver the right services to the right clients at the right time.

About the Role

The Heartbeat project is one of the Ministry's key priorities and is focused on seeking clients' feedback, understanding the insights the feedback provides and then using the feedback to improve our services.

To be successful in this role you'll need to be comfortable with data development, IT and Vendor software to enable you to trouble shoot when things go awry. The environment is fast paced so you will need to act quickly when change is required.

This role is primarily a communication and stakeholder management role. So strong skills in this area are a must, as you will be working with senior leaders across the ministry to ensure reporting and insights are delivered back to the business to enable work programme prioritisation and investment decision making. Some technical skills are a bonus, but this role will be supported by a data scientist and our internal reporting teams.

This role will suit an individual who can demonstrate;

• High degree of computer literacy
• A strong background in business analysis and/or analytics
• The ability to interpret and articulate data trends in a way that is easily understood by a variety of stakeholders
• Data modelling and data visualisation
• Some knowledge of SQL, SAS or similar software

Please note this is a temporary role and there is no position description.
