Job Description

Research Services Analyst

Permanent, full-time

The Parliamentary Library is looking for a Research Services Analyst to be part of a high-performing team which provides research and analysis to members of Parliament and their staff. As part of the team you will be sharing your legal skills, in particular your broad knowledge of current and proposed statute law, to support others in delivering research to our customers. You'll also contribute to the on-going development of Library services and products.

A primary focus of the role is writing the Parliamentary Library's Bills Digests. This service provides an impartial summary of bills, which supports our customers by saving their time and increasing their understanding of new legislation.

To be successful in this role you must be able to identify the most important clauses in a bill and clearly describe them. It's crucial that you're able to meet the challenge of delivering this well-established service to key timeframes.

We want someone who will enhance the Bills Digests service and make sure it keeps meeting customers' needs into the future. It's important you're customer focussed and committed to continuously improving the service. We're looking for someone who loves collaborating, building strong relationships and working closely with other team members.

Applicants must be able to legally work in New Zealand and should have a law degree.

Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday, 25 October 2017.

If you have any questions in regards to this role please contact Talent@parliament.govt.nz

The Parliamentary Service appoints on merit and is committed to EEO and good employer principles.
