We are looking for enthusiastic lawyers with high levels of integrity and professionalism to join our supportive and collegial team, in providing quality legal services for the Ministry of Social Development.
About the Role
We are looking for lawyers to join our supportive and cooperative team and provide quality legal services for the Ministry of Social Development.
We have 2 permanent Lawyer roles available.
One will work collaboratively with other lawyers and Senior Lawyers to manage social security litigation, human rights complaints and to assist with the Ministry's response to Inquiries. The other will work collaboratively with another lawyer and Senior Lawyers to advise on the legal aspects of claims of historic abuse in state care.
Both roles do not generally include Court advocacy as Crown Law is instructed, but some familiarity with court processes and litigation management is desirable.
For both roles knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and its impact on the Ministry's work is desirable.
All our lawyers also have the opportunity to assist across the areas undertaken by the broader legal team.
