We have an exciting new role for an experienced Wellbeing Advisor who is passionate about supporting Pacific students to be successful in their tertiary education, improving mental health outcomes and wellbeing literacy.
The role of Student Wellbeing Advisor, Pacific is part of a university-wide Student Wellbeing team building the capacity of other staff to support those students experiencing emotional distress, mental health issues, or concerning behaviour. In addition, the role collaborates broadly to promote and develop the wellbeing and resilience of the student body, specifically Pacific students.
The role understands student wellbeing within a shared university-wide framework. It assists in the provision of a responsive and effective pastoral care service that improves student success, retention, and experience for students across the three campuses, distance students, and those studying offshore. In return, we provide a supportive and close-knit team on each campus enabling a great working environment.
There is a particular emphasis on working collaboratively across Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa with other Pacific support staff and with family, and members of the community.
