Nelson Hospital Theatre Suite consists of 6 Operating Theatres with a Recovery Room, a Sterile Services department and Endoscopy suite. We are a friendly and supportive team focusing on providing a caring and professional environment, delivering quality care and extended nursing practice.

Surgical specialties covered include: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Acute/Trauma, Paediatrics, Plastics and Vascular. Shifts are rostered and rotating across Sunday to Monday with on call after hours.

Positions available include, but are not limited to the following:

• 0.6FTE to 1.0FTE Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses (Permanent and Parental Leave)
• 0.8FTE Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) experience preferred, but training could be provided for the right candidate.

You will be a NZ Registered Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse, with a current APC and post-registration experience working with a multi-disciplinary perioperative and/or PACU team. You will have a positive attitude, an innovative and adaptable approach to practice, excellent communication skills and a real commitment to providing quality patient-centred care. You will also be a team player, who enjoys keeping up to date with clinical practice, with excellent organisational and time management skills.

For the health and safety of staff and patients all NMH staff are required to be vaccinated in accordance with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 including boosters.
