Senior Project Coordinator - Fixed Term at Electoral Commission, Wellington - Wairarapa

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Confident senior project administrator required to join an exciting programme of work within the Electoral Commission.  The TOM Programme Team are looking for someone to join them on a Fixed Term contract until December 2022.  If you thrive on keeping things on track and enjoy meeting milestones and deadlines to reach project outcomes, this could be the role for you. 

Join us as a crucial member of the programme team, working closely with the Project Manager and Programme Team members to keep the different workstreams running smoothly. 

Key tasks and responsibilities include: 

  • Develop in-depth understanding of the programme scope and particulars, including timeframes, financials and outcomes. 

  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks, including booking meetings for the Project Manager and other members of the programme team. 

  • Maintain project and programme documentation, such as plans and reports. 

  • Ensure that team members and resources from the wider commission, are aware of deadlines and tasks they are responsible for. 

To be successful in this role you will need to have: 

  • a background in project co-ordination/ senior administration roles 

  • experience working with different systems and processes 

  • proficient computer skills 

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • the ability to multitask and work under pressure and work effectively in a project team environment

The Electoral Commission is an independent Crown Entity who works with and through communities to inform, engage and educate New Zealanders about the value of participation, make it easy for them to enrol and vote, promote understanding of New Zealand's democratic processes, and deliver parliamentary elections and referenda. 

In association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade under the New Zealand Aid Programme, the International Team provides technical assistance to electoral agencies in the Pacific and beyond to support those agencies to enhance their electoral administration capability.
