Job Description

Chief Information Security Officer

We are looking for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join our high performing Information Systems and Technology (IST) team. IST is responsible for delivering information systems, technology and communications services; guidance and strategic direction to Parliamentary Service, its clients, and partnering parliamentary precinct agencies. The team encourages and facilitates the appropriate application of IST to business operations.

The CISO is responsible for ensuring the security of Parliament's ICT services and information. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement information security strategies and policies alongside the Chief Information Officer and other key stakeholders and establish a dedicated Cyber Security capability for Parliament.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • IST security strategy, planning and execution
  • security development, monitoring and reporting
  • relationship management.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • a background managing information security functions at a senior management level
  • superb problem solving ability
  • excellent relationship management, communication and influencing skills
  • success in leading, managing and motivating a group of committed ICT professionals
  • strategic capability, sound business judgement and a customer-centric approach
  • the capacity to work effectively to provide sound direction and guidance across different organisations at Parliament
  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent information security accreditation and the ability to obtain an NZSIS clearance to SECRET.
