What we're after is a person who likes to work hard, enjoys challenge, can work flexibly and can problem-solve on their feet.

Here's an opportunity to work within one of the most trusted organisations in New Zealand, providing support to frontline Police Officers and employees. Welfare officers operate from a professional background providing, information, assistance and assessment to staff and their families. Whether it's following up on critical incidents, advising managers on welfare issues or teaching coping skills, there's plenty of variety here!

The person we are seeking will ideally have 6 years post-graduate experience in mental health nursing, social work, counselling or occupational therapy (current practicing certificate required).

You will have proven ability to work unsupervised and be great at establishing relationships. In return you will work in a supportive team, in an environment that is never boring!

This busy role is based in Dunedin and is full time. The Staff Welfare Officer covers a district from Te Anau, Queenstown, Wanaka, up to Oamaru and down to the south coast. You will require excellent health, ability to cope with a busy caseload and the flexibility to travel.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
