Salary Range BAND D $51,449 - $69,605

Auckland Central West Youth Services is looking for someone to fill the Youth Worker position based at the Avondale Police Station. You will join the TYLA (Turn Your Life Around) Project that consists of Sworn and Nonsworn staff working with Youth at Risk and their families in the Auckland Central West area. You will be in a position of trust and confidence with daily contact with local stakeholders, schools, youth clients, and community groups. The Youth Worker will work closely with families identifying any risks and issues affecting that young person's development and is expected to make the appropriate referrals or course of action. This role includes planning and supervising holiday Activities and programs for Youth, as well as keeping, and maintaining accurate notes and records on a daily basis.

EXPERIENCE

  • Be self-motivated and work productively with minimal supervision
  • Recent experience working with Youth
  • Is able to identify risk and make sound decisions leading to positive outcomes
  • Is able to supervise and lead Youth activities and Holiday programs

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Social Work Degree or Youth Work Degree is desirable but not required
  • Current First Aid
  • Full Drivers Licence
