Massey Business School
The School of Economics and Finance invites applications for a full-time tenured faculty member in Economics. The primary area of interest is macroeconomics, but applicants in all areas of economics are encouraged to apply. The position is based at our Manawatu campus in Palmerston North.
In this position, you will be expected to teach economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise students in our Masters' and Ph.D. programmes, and actively pursue your research agenda. We offer a relatively low teaching load. The Business School's Workload Model is used to determine the teaching workload and allows for a variation of the teaching load based on course enrolments, research productivity, and other factors. Early career academics will normally have a teaching load of two courses for the first year.
The successful applicant will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Economics, a strong and continuing research record, or a clear evidence of excellent research potential.
We are looking to appoint at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. The applicant should be available to start in Semester 2, 2023, at the latest.
