About our group
The People Group ensures that MSD has the organisation, people and culture capable to deliver on the Government's outcomes and priorities. We provide strategic and operational support through a full suite of HR strategies, policies, procedures and services. We are a collaborative team who provide great service and continuous improvement within a constructive culture.
About the role
The Lead Advisor – People Group will provide insight, strategic and tactical advice and facilitate effective solutions to urgent or ongoing issues, thereby contributing to MSD's strategic direction. Reporting to the Programme Manager within the People Group PMO, this is a newly created critical role. You will be working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Office of the Deputy Chief Executive, the Group General Manager People and Ministerial functions.
- Coordinate the provision of replies to Parliamentary questions, and OIA requests
- Establish processes and timelines to facilitate business planning and coordination of documents
- Coordinate, analyse, research and generate responses to inform sound decision-making
- Develop and maintain effective, trusted working relationships across the Group and the wider MSD
- Support the People Groups Portfolio of work and projects
Skills and experience
- Extensive experience of the public sector operating environment and politically savvy
- An established record of operating and influencing at a senior leadership level
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- An understanding and experience of working in sensitive environments
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate work programmes to meet deadlines while maintaining quality of services

Salary range: $100,014.00 - $150,022.00
