The Māori, Communities and Partnerships (MCP) Group is responsible for building capability across the organisation to support the aspirations of Māori, connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.
Mō te tīma / About our team
The Service and Contracts Management team within MCP is responsible for managing a range of contracts with service providers and partners and supporting our industry partnerships with employers. The group also supports the regional contracting teams who work directly with providers throughout New Zealand.
The team is also responsible for Support Funds, administering and managing the Job and Training Support Funds programme. Support Funds is an MSD-funded welfare programme that provides assistance with extra employment or training costs that are a direct consequence of a person's disability or impairment, costs that a person without a disability doing the same job or training would not have.
Tēnei tūranga - About the role
We are looking for someone to lead our Support Funds administration team.
As the Team Manager, you will be responsible for the day- to- day hands-on management of Support Funds administration, setting of team priorities, ensuring the effective allocation and use of resources. This includes overseeing and supervising a team of Support Funds Advisors, monitoring and reporting on their performance, as well as liaising with key stakeholders to promote the interests and objectives of the MSD.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Proven experience in leading and creating a high performing team with a positive team culture
- Proven experience in managing project and programme implementation
- Sound understanding and knowledge of operational policy and the issues impacting it
- An ability and experience of working collaboratively with internal senior managers, within immediate business unit, and across related MSD service lines, to enact changes that result in better services for people with disabilities
- A good understanding of the disability sector, New Zealand Disability Strategy and System Transformation in line with Enabling Good Lives principals
- Knowledge, and experience in building successful and enduring relationships with external disability networks and related stakeholders
