Regional Relationship Manager – Ministry of Youth Development

About the role 

The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with and support youth development providers, communities and engage with key stakeholders at a regional and local level to improve outcomes for youth.

This includes:

  • Providing informed and robust advice to a range of audiences regarding youth development best practice, and evidence regarding the impact on young people
  • Managing relationships and monitoring contracts with MYD-funded providers
  • Building and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as Iwi relationships, community groups, local government, MSD programme managers and regional representatives, philanthropic and business sector
  • Collating, reporting and analysing information, to identify trends, challenges and opportunities for the Ministry and other key stakeholders
  • Providing quality information related to contracting in response to Ministerial requests, Parliamentary questions, OIA and stakeholders
  • Contributing to the development of a positive and proactive team culture and actively participating in the team to reach its full potential
 
About you 

Skills and Experience

Your excellent communication and networking skills will enable you to engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships. Important to this role is the ability to work in a collaborative and innovative way in cross-sector settings and a robust understanding of youth development principles and the youth sector. You will have a minimum of three years' experience working in cross sector settings, and have a robust understanding of (and experience working with) MYD-funded providers and services.

Other critical skills include at least two to three years' experience working with, and/or contracting with, non-government organisations and excellent relationship management skills. Ideally, you will also have experience in the development of partnerships (ideally in the philanthropic and business sectors).

In addition, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent youth development qualification, an ability to work with ambiguity and to move quickly in a dynamic environment.  A working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of the Ministry are important.

Salary range: $95,546.00 - $116,778.00
