Programme Manager - Asbestos Management
 
*       Auckland or Wellington based
*       Lead a culture of asbestos management
*       Two year fixed term appointment
 
The Asbestos Programme Manager will lead the development of an estate wide asbestos management regime including the establishment of policy and operational processes.
 
We are seeking a person who has the confidence to drive this message throughout the organisation; this could see you facilitating formal presentations and seminars while consistently socialising the management plan in your everyday dealings with colleagues.
 
You will be joining a busy and very supportive team who are passionate about the work they do, this is a great opportunity to add value to the business.
 
To this role you will bring an in depth knowledge of the Asbestos Regulations 2016, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and WorkSafe Good Practice Guidelines. You will also need to have proven programme management skills.
Ideally you will have asbestos qualification(s) such as British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), or similar; and/or WorkSafe issued asbestos Certification or Licence.
 
In addition a minimum of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Engineering, Property or Occupational Risk (or similar) is needed.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
 
Low level Security Clearance
  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
