Job Description

As a subject matter expert and technical lead we'll be looking to you to lead the way!

The Directorate Land Equipment Management (DLEM) is accountable for delivering effective and efficient logistics support to NZDF. This includes end to end policy, plans, assurance, engineering, maintenance, supply chain and the through life management of equipment.
This role involves conducting regular evaluations of equipment within the team, creating maintenance support plans and providing a range of technical advice and support. 

You'll be an experienced engineer; ideally skilled in radio or electronics.  You'll have proven your ability to technically evaluate both new and existing equipment and accurately document your findings.  You'll be effective at holistically analysing the symptoms in order to find the actual cause of failure, report, and then put forward your recommendations.

You'll be a confident communicator who actively engages with both internal and external stakeholders and is able to build trust and rapport quickly.  You'll have strong analytical skills, experience in quickly and effectively managing any issues and a strong commitment to ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standard.  You'll be competent in using the Microsoft Office suite and be willing to learn new IT systems as they relate to the role.  A current driver's licence is also needed.

The total remuneration band for this position is $70,956 to $87,652, inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution.

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
