Full-time, permanent position.

IST training is part of the IST Service Delivery and Operations unit which is responsible for the quality of IST service delivery to its customers and champions a customer service focus. The training team provide ongoing operational support, education, documentation and training of end users and IST operations staff in the effective use and support of software and hardware used for Parliamentary business

The role

We are looking for a talented trainer who is passionate about helping our customers, including members of Parliament, Ministers, and staff, to succeed through the efficient use of technology.

We would love to hear from you if you have proven experience, great interpersonal skills and are keen to be involved in training planning, delivery, content development and relationship building. Our trainers get to see most of the country with visits to Out of Parliament offices and travel regularly, sometimes requiring overnight stays.

You will be required to:

  • provide delivery training through a variety of methods, including classroom and one on one, to ensure users can get the most out of software and hardware used for Parliamentary business
  • produce end-user, operations and support documentation to ensure the ongoing effective operation and use of IST services
  • evaluate training results and identify required changes to training plans and resources
  • customise and write tailored training materials as required and deliver customised training
  • build and maintain effective working relationships across the Parliamentary Precinct including with Ministers, Members, Ministerial and Parliamentary staff
  • provide one on one support to Ministers, Members and other staff based on precinct around the IST equipment and training.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • extensive experience in developing and delivering training material
  • comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office, iOS, and Android
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • excellent presentation skills
  • the ability to travel and spend periods of time out of Wellington
  • a full driver's licence with a clean driving record.
