IT Infrastructure and Services - VMware Architect

 

 

The Ministry of Social Development has one of the largest IT Groups in the country, managing the full Solution Delivery Life Cycle from strategy and design to management and on-going support of IT Systems. In order to enable the Ministry to deliver business outcomes to its clients, the Infrastructure and Services team must deliver reliable and secure technical solutions underpinned by excellent service and support.

 

The Lead Windows System Engineer – AD\VMware Architect role provides solutions within a multi-platform integrated environment as part of Windows and Integration Team.

 

To be successful in this position you will require proven commercial or government experience working in large organisations with Microsoft Windows Server(s) & workstation operating systems in both a hardware and virtual environment. You will have demonstrated experience designing, integrating and supporting Windows Servers & VMware environments, HP SAN, HP One view, Exchange 2013, Active Directory, DNS, SCOM, Azure AD, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS-R, DFS-N, SCCM, File Servers, ADFS and WebSense technologies.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

 

  • Develop, document and maintain the Infrastructure design principles for all of the managed and virtual Server Environment.
  • Research new technologies for incorporation into future traditional hardware and virtual Roadmap designs.
  • Input into the designs and implementation of the following technologies:
    • VMware 6.5
    • Microsoft Windows Server(s)
  • Design all Infrastructure management standards to adhere with system management processes and tools, system monitoring processes and system access processes.
  • Proven experience in writing technical design, development, and implementation documentation of the above systems as well as SAN storage, networking, PowerShell Scripting will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and software management best practices.
