Type: Secondment/Fixed term - 12 months
Hours: Full time

Salary: $84,301 - $114,054

Senior Advisor to Government Chief Privacy Officer (12 month secondment)

Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Advisor to the Government Chief Privacy Officer (GCPO), assisting with leadership on all government approach to privacy. The GCPO team sits within the Service and System Transformation branch of DIA, a branch supports the Chief Executive in his role as Government Chief Digital Officer.

As more people are able to access government services digitally, New Zealanders need to have trust and confidence that the Government takes all aspects of privacy and security seriously.

The Senior Advisor will support the GCPO by:

  • direct engagement with State Sector agencies to help them with their privacy maturity journey
  • development of guidance and advice to agencies on privacy practice
  • providing insight into agency needs and what works "on the ground"

  • Work closely with key stakeholders in the State sector to facilitate co-ordination on privacy related matters?
