Senior Advisor, Operational Policy

Operational Policy and Business Improvement team, Community Operations

Do you want to play an important part in developing operational policy and implementing business improvement so as to support community organisations and individuals throughout New Zealand? Are you used to working in a busy work environment and on multiple projects? Are you interested in leading projects and encouraging the development of other staff within these? Do you enjoy having fun at work?

If so, this could be a great position for you!

A Senior Advisor position has become vacant within the Operational Policy team. The role entails assisting the Team Leader, Operational Policy in the leadership of a team of four other staff in developing operational policy, leading business improvement initiatives, providing Secretariat services to a number of decision making bodies and managing official correspondence within the Operational Policy and Business Improvement team.

This is a permanent position that would suit an experienced Senior Advisor wanting to broaden their skills. The work involves close liaison with 16 regional offices throughout New Zealand and across the Department of Internal Affairs. In addition there are key external relationships with Ministers' offices, National Community Organisation Grants Scheme (COGS) Committee, the Lottery Grants Board, other Government departments as well as a range of not-for-profit organisations.

Applicants must have excellent writing and presenting skills and be currently available to work within New Zealand. Prior experience in an operational policy environment, reviewing content for websites or working with community organisations would be an advantage.
