  • Te Ara Manaaki is an innovative, transformative programme to reimagine and redesign the way in which DIA's identity and life event services are delivered - making it easier for people to access these services, and those provided by other agencies and organisations.
  • We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to join the Policy & Privacy team who are overhauling the information sharing authorising environment - simplifying it, while still ensuring good privacy protection, to unlock the use of the information DIA holds - foundational, enabling work that underpins our ability to improve service delivery.
  • You'll be a flexible team player excited by the prospect of dealing with complex challenges within in a dynamic environment

The work involves multiple Cabinet processes and liaison with a wide range of organisations to negotiate and agree the details of the new information sharing agreements. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone keen to work in the cross-government space.  

You'll be an excellent writer, familiar with Ministerial and Cabinet processes, confident in dealing with senior stakeholders, and have good interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.  You'll be comfortable with working flexibly within Policy & Privacy team's work programme - and occasionally on other agreed work within Te Ara Manaaki.   The information sharing processes will be technology-based, so some familiarity with technology projects and programmes could be an advantage.
