Community Advisor Vacancy Lower Hutt – Community Operations Business Group

A Community Advisor vacancy has opened​ up in the ​Community Operations​ Business Group of the Department of Internal Affairs.  This particular position is based in Lower Hutt and the mahi has a National focus.

You'll pride yourself in being a trusted advisor who is a strong relationship builder and can contribute specialist knowledge and experience to help build strong resilient communities, hapu, and iwi.  Your key role will be to provide customers, decision makers, and stakeholders with a range of high quality advice, information, facilitation, and funding administration services for a National fund.

You will have a professional attitude and be able to evidence:

  • A working understanding of Community Led Development principles and practice
  • Confidence and leadership in an outcomes investment model
  • IT savvy with expertise in Excel and other programmes
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Highly developed listening, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Positivity, initiative and adaptability to manage time and workload effectively
  • Online grant experience, previous secretariat, advisory, and/or funding administration experience 
  • Community led development/hapu and iwi led development/Community Advisory/Community Practitioner experience

Ideally your background might include:

  • ​Online grant experience, previous secretariat, advisory, and/or funding administration experience 
  • Community led development/hapu and iwi led development/Community Advisory/Community Practitioner experience
