The purpose of the role:

The position is in a team supporting the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). The IDI is a large research database that holds microdata about people and households. The data is used to help researchers gain insight into our society and economy. The research can help answer questions about complex issues that affect New Zealanders. The research needs to meet conditions we've set to keep the data safe. The role is key in ensuring that these conditions are met.

Person specifications

We are looking for a Data Processing Analyst who is able to provide support for our datalabs, ensuring that the data that is released meets our confidentiality. Experience in this field would be an advantage, but we are also looking for promising entry level candidates.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have the ability to apply technical checking skills to data/information to ensure that confidentiality is maintained
  • have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be confident in presenting your work in plain English
  • be able to provide training and advice to customers when required
  • have the ability to work well in a team environment and form effective relationships with a range of people
  • have the ability to get things done with limited supervision
  • be able to plan to deliver your work to meet time and quality requirements, and also to deal with changing priorities.
