Job Description

 What you will do

The primary purpose of this position is to perform the necessary duties within the Distribution Centre to ensure daily outputs are met. These include receipt and dispatch of goods, preservation and packaging, stocktaking, and picking and storing goods.

 

What we need

We are seeking a person with some really good practical experience of working within a warehousing environment. In this role you will rotate through all of the positions within the distribution centre which includes; dispatch, preservation and packaging, stocktaking, picking and storing goods. This ensures that you maintain your skill level in each position.

This is a role where you will need to enjoy working face to face with your customers, and your main customer in this position being the RNZN. Having good attention to detail is also vital, as is the ability to investigate discrepancies within the supply chain and being proactive in finding solutions to problems.

You will require good computer skills and be willing to learn new systems and processes.  A full class 1 driver licence is essential. A fork lift licence is desirable and knowledge and/or qualifications in Dangerous Goods, Workplace First Aid, HAZNO (Classes 2-9) is advantageous.

The Supply Chain is a sub-Unit within the Logistics Command (Maritime) that is responsible for controlling and supplying equipment and materials primarily to the Royal New Zealand Navy. The Group provides a range of supply chain services, including transportation and freight forwarding, material preservation and packaging, warehousing, procurement, inventory management, and material data control.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR

  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
