ACC achieves this vision by investing in injury prevention activities to help make New Zealand a safer place to live and work. We currently have over $60m in funds invested in injury prevention activities and are looking to grow the success and scale of this investment.

We are looking for a dynamic senior leader to join ACC's Customer Group and lead ACC's injury prevention investment portfolio. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of New Zealanders.

Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the Head of Injury Prevention will develop and maintain a strong and sustainable portfolio of injury prevention investments. You will ensure that ACC optimizes and identifies new opportunities to grow return on investment and the demonstrable benefits for ACC and New Zealanders.

You will lead delivery of ACC's new Injury Prevention Strategy - a strategic shift in ACC's injury prevention investment approach. The Injury Prevention Strategy aims to lift the effectiveness of ACC's injury prevention activities with the goal of significantly increasing investment over the next 10 years. Delivery of the strategy is about building on the successes ACC has achieved in injury prevention over the last three years and taking the portfolio, and our people, to the next level.

This requires new capabilities and ways of thinking about our injury prevention investments. You will bring strategic direction that grows the scale and effectiveness of our injury prevention investment portfolio. This includes investing in innovation and long-term societal behaviour change, as well as new tools and approaches to improve the performance of core injury prevention investments.

As Head of Injury Prevention, you will create effective partnerships within ACC, our community delivery organisations, the New Zealand Government sector, and strategic stakeholders. You will be comfortable representing Injury Prevention at Ministerial and ACC Board meetings.

A key member of the Customer Group Leadership team, the Head of IP will also contribute to improving the overall customer experience by providing expertise, strategic advice and thought leadership.

You will bring the following skills and experience:

  • General management experience, including experience leading senior teams and financial management.
  • Significant experience in building and leading partnerships/ relationships at a national level across government
  • Experience in delivery of strategic change, including planning and execution
  • Previous experience in managing and delivering a broad range of work programmes to achieve agreed KPIs
  • Experience preparing, presenting and taking investment decisions, and monitoring benefits
  • Significant experience in leading change and developing effective and engaged teams
