We are looking for a talented reporting professional to join our People Branch HRIS and Reporting function, providing key people related reporting and insights for the team and across Fire and Emergency New Zealand.  

As a senior analyst you will lead the creation of people data reporting and insights and be the advocate for transforming data into meaningful business information and insights to support sound business decision making on all things people related.  With your ability to influence and coach, you will support other members of the People reporting function to build capability.

Ko tāu nā ki tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role: 

We're looking for someone with:

  • Advanced SQL and Microsoft Excel skills and experience
  • Experience in HR data reporting, including to executive leadership and board level reports, providing insights on FTEs, salaries, diversity reporting, etc.
  • Proven ability to analyst large data sets, identify trends and make data-driven recommendations using strategic and lateral thinking
  • History working with OIA requests and reporting behind this
  • Working knowledge of Employment Legislation (Privacy Act, Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act).
  • Ability to understand the big picture, while still having an eye on for detail
  • Experience working with an HRIS or payroll system is desirable
