Police continues to position itself as an effective, innovative, efficient and modern policing service offering a benchmark for others to follow and we are looking for high performing individuals to join us.   There is an opportunity for you to join the Arms Act Service Delivery Group as a Firearms Licensing Administrator. 


You will be responsible for maintaining the national database of firearm license holders by processing data and providing an inquiry and administration service to customers with respect to firearms licensing and arms control.  Additionally you will be responsible for supporting the Police Import Permit and Data Management (PIPS) System by preparing permit and licence documentation and database maintenance.

•             are able to multitask and manage time effectively

•             possess proficient computer skills, and experience in key Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

•             have a high level of self-motivation and initiative

•             have experience maintaining and updating databases

•             have the ability to interpret and provide advice on government legislation


Successful Applicants must:-

•             Be prepared to undertake training by the successful completion of Unit Standard 9131 (Identify and Understand Arms legislation and demonstrate the safe use and security of Firearms) through NZ Police (approx. 35 hours of self-directed study).
