Job Description

The Parliamentary Service is seeking a Contractor Management Specialist, Health and Safety to support the Asset Management and Maintenance Manager and team. This is a great opportunity for someone with Health and Safety Contractor management experience, in particular, in a property and facilities environment and who has an interest in supporting New Zealand's Parliament.

The Assets Management and Maintenance team ensures the physical structures and facilities located in the Parliamentary precincts and the leased accommodation are functional and safe.

We are looking for someone who can make a difference, is a go-getter, and will bring energy to our team.

Purpose of this position

To partner with the business in the implementation of Parliamentary Service's contractor management strategy, within the Health and Safety Management framework to ensure that Parliamentary Service meets its legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

As a subject matter expert, you will apply skill, judgement and knowledge to provide specialist support to the business on good practice contractor management through the life cycle of contractor engagement, including scoping, pre-qualification, selection, monitoring and reviewing.

What skills do you have?

The successful applicant will have proven experience in the Health and Safety aspects of Contractor Management in particular in the property and facilities environment. You will have excellent planning, business writing and organisation skills with an ability to respond to changing demands. You will display initiative, great customer service with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
