Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
The Strategy, Policy and Integrity group works to ensure that the public sector is best placed to deliver for New Zealanders. We provide system leadership to promote a strong unifying culture and high standards of integrity across the public service by promoting integrity, transparency and accountability. We are looking for a talented Principal Advisor or Senior Advisor able to provide timely, high-quality advice, and lead the delivery of projects across our diverse and ambitious work programme.
The Principal Advisor role is an opportunity to work alongside senior public service leaders to resolve emerging issues and to influence change at a system level. This will include an ability to contribute to strategic thinking on integrity matters and present complex issues to variety of different audiences at pace. You will have sophisticated inter-personal and relationship building skills and a track-record of working well and delivering as part of a team. You will also be a critical, deep thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills and who is confident communicating with a range of stakeholders.
The Senior Advisor role is an opportunity to develop policy advice, design and deliver interventions to influence change at a system level, and to contribute to high-profile projects that make a difference. You will have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with experience working in partnership with others. You will be a critical and deep thinker, who with excellent communication skills, and have the skill to analyse and present complex matters simply. You will be a strong team player and demonstrate the ability to collaborate across teams and agencies to deliver.
For both roles a legal, public management or policy background would be an advantage.

The Principal Advisor position usually pays between $130,171 to $159,588 and the Senior Advisor position between $106,296 to $129,471 depending on skills and experience. Please advise in your application which role you are interested in.
