Job Description

What you will do

As the Publications and Information Manager, you'll be the leader responsible for developing and implementing policy and procedures for the procurement, creation, management and control of RNZAF publications and engineering drawings, and the management and control of NZDF policy and administration publication promulgation. 
In executing these responsibilities, you'll have a strong focus on creation of robust processes to support high quality outputs, shaped by an awareness of international best practice and continuous improvement initiatives.

Managing a regionally split team, with staff in both Trentham and Woodbourne, you'll be a skilled people leader and will also provide advice and support to teams in Ohakea and Auckland.
What we need
An experienced and skilled people leader with strong publication and information/data management experience.  You'll have an understanding of airworthiness implications in relation to publication and drawing management systems, as well as compliance assurance in an aeronautical environment.
Your broad knowledge and experience of documentation systems and processes in large, or government organisations, ideally with experience in working in a secure environment with controlled access to sensitive information.
You'll have excellent communication, time management and organisation skills, as well as skills in managing and mentoring personnel and financial management plus proven ability to perform in an autonomous role.
Who we are
Publications, Information and Drawing Support (PIDS) is responsible for the provision of policy advice and promulgation services for RNZAF Logistics publications and engineering drawings via multiple different media including the NZDF intranet. PIDS is also responsible for:

•             Maintaining a publications and engineering drawing online archival and retrieval facility.
•             Supporting the three Base Aeronautical Documentation Centres (ADCs) and two Operational Documentation Centres (ODCs).
•             Providing a publication distribution, control and amendment service for Air Staff and RNZAF units overseas, the wider NZDF and All of Government.
•             Providing a research and supply service for technical specifications, standards and associated data.
•             Providing a documentation and book scanning facility.

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
