Job Description

What you will do

As the Incident Manager you will coordinate and track the response to cyber security incidents. You will do this by;

  • Evaluate urgency of incidents and prioritise;
  • Coordinate and combine incident response activities among different teams within the CSOC;
  • Identify commonalities amongst incidents;
  • Track Cyber Security incidents to closure ensuring the incident has successfully resolved;
  • Mentor and provide guidance to your team mates and share expertise;
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technology and skills in support of building and maintain Cyber Security incident response.

What we need

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in the Cyber Security incident management field or similar;
  • Experience leading Cyber Security incident response activities;
  • Exceptional knowledge of cyber risks, the current threat landscape and common attacks;
  • Technical understanding of enterprise detection technologies and processes;
  • Exceptional knowledge of network protocols and operating systems;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships;
  • A strategic outlook and the ability to conceptualise and develop innovative solutions.

Please note: This position on-call and may involve out-of-hours work. On-call allowance provided. You must be able and willing to travel within New Zealand and overseas if required.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 15 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 15 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
