Job Description

The East Coast region spans from Potaka in the far north, to the city of Gisborne, the rural town of Wairoa, to Napier and Hastings with Waipukurau the southern-most part of our Region.

 

We have nine service centres from Ruatoria to Waipukurau and have 180 team members.  Our region's population is approximately 209,000 people and we provide service to approximately 45,000 clients subject to seasonal fluctuation.  

 

We are active participants in regional leadership forums that have a strong focus on supporting better social and economic outcomes.

 

Reporting to the General Manager Client Service Delivery Operations you'll:

  • provide strong, effective leadership to a team of (number) service centre managers located in sites across the region, ensuring we're working as one (Kotahitanga)
  • lead the operation of all the Work and Income offices in the region - responsible for the overall performance of the sites, including the successful implementation of  Service Delivery and Ministry initiatives
  • create a welcoming and positive environment for clients and staff in our offices – where we look after each other (Manaakitanga) and provide a fantastic service to everyone who comes through our doors
  • Motivate, inspire and influence those around you to achieve/exceed targets and expectations – and then take time out to celebrate your successes (Whakanui)
  • provide guidance, support and training to develop the leadership capability in your teams
  • build relationships (Whakawhanaungatanga) with social service agencies, employers, community groups and industry/providers to make sure we're connected and delivering an integrated service
  • be committed to continuous improvement-  always connecting back to why we do things (Hononga) and looking for better ways of delivering our services.

You'll demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Leadership, management and planning of integrated service delivery operations
  • Management experience of senior staff across distributed areas
  • Stakeholder management of diverse and/or disparate groups
  • Working and collaborating with community/industry groups
  • Understanding of the complexities of public sector issues.
