At the Ministry of Social Development, we work with New Zealanders to help them be safe, strong and independent. We're community-focused and people-centred — supporting whānau across the motu to realise their potential. We're looking for an Employment Coordinator in the Northland Region to support people with health conditions, illness, or disabilities into sustainable employment, training and development opportunities. You will be based in Whangarei.

What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana

As an Employment Coordinator, your focus is on:

• Working alongside Case Managers to understand client strengths and aspirations
• Supporting clients with CV development, interview preparation, and pre-employment checks
• Connecting with employers and providers to match clients into the right opportunities
• Promoting your clients' potential and working with them to overcome employment barriers
• Providing post-placement support to ensure long-term success
• Contributing to local and regional employment strategies

This is a hands-on role where your ability to influence, build trust, and deliver outcomes will make a real difference.

What you'll bring | Ngā pūkenga kauneke

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience or understanding of health, disability, employment, or recruitment sectors
• Builds strong, respectful relationships with clients, employers and stakeholders
• Is solutions-focused and works with a person's strengths
• Knows the labour market and understands the barriers people with health/disability face
• Communicates clearly and professionally – both written and verbal
• Is organised, pragmatic, and enjoys working collaboratively
• Holds a clean, full New Zealand driver licence

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00

The starting salary is align to knowledge, skills and relevant work experience.
