Work Broker | Auckland South Region | Māngere & Manukau at Ministry of Social Development, Auckland

About the role | Mō te tūnga:

As a Work Broker, you'll work directly with employers across Auckland South region to create sustainable employment opportunities for MSD clients.

This is a relationship-focused role where you'll build employer partnerships, understand workforce needs, identify job opportunities, and connect businesses with suitable candidates. Working alongside Case Managers and employment teams, you'll help clients move into employment while supporting employers to meet their workforce needs.

Most of your time will be spent engaging with employers, developing networks, and identifying opportunities across the region. Success in this role comes from building trusted relationships, understanding business needs, and delivering positive employment outcomes for both employers and job seekers.

This role is well suited to individuals with experience in recruitment, account management, sales, business development, labour market engagement, or industries where relationship building and influencing are critical to success.

Ko te mahi | What you'll be doing

Employer engagement and partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to create employment opportunities
  • Understand workforce needs and identify suitable hiring solutions
  • Promote MSD employment initiatives, products, and services
  • Support employers through recruitment, onboarding, and retention activities

Recruitment and placement

  • Connect suitable candidates with employment opportunities
  • Advocate for clients and promote their strengths to employers
  • Work closely with Case Managers to achieve sustainable employment outcomes

Collaboration and delivery

  • Work with Labour Market teams and regional stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records and manage multiple workstreams
  • Share labour market insights and employer feedback across teams

Ōu pūmanawatanga | What you bring

  • Experience in recruitment, sales, account management, business development, labour market engagement, or similar relationship-focused roles
  • Confidence building relationships, identifying opportunities, and influencing outcomes
  • Strong networking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a solutions-focused approach
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to supporting positive employment outcomes for clients and whānau
  • A full NZ Driver Licence and ability to travel across the Auckland region

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00

Starting salary is aligned to relevant skills, knowledge, and work experience.
