We are looking for a permanent, full time manager to join the IDG team at the new Centre of Maaori Innovation and Entrepreneurship located at our Glenview campus in Hamilton.

About the role:

The primary purpose of the Manager Community Experience and Events role is drive community engagement and experience, sponsorship development, and event management and execution for the success of the Centre of Maaori Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  The role ensures support for Maaori entrepreneurs, business graduates, and the growth and development of small to medium enterprise Maaori businesses by:

Managing the on-boarding of new clients; sponsorship and proposal development; planning and executing events; marketing and communication activations; coordination of workshops and programmes and managing and reporting on stakeholder relationship. 

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Researching and developing proposals and business cases to secure new revenue and development opportunities
  • Creating sponsorship solutions that generate value and sustainable revenue while promoting and maintaining sponsor relationships
  • Assisting with developing business and innovation tools and resources that support entrepreneurs and business growth
  • Establishing and maintaining quality relationships with all stakeholders, and Maaori business networks and hub connections across the Waikato region to enhance overall stakeholder satisfaction
  • Managing the maintenance of documentation, files and recordable actions to meet audit and policy compliance

About you:

  • You have qualifications and 5+ years' experience in business, management, marketing, projects or a related field
  • You can demonstrate your ability to analyse, investigate and interpret data, issues and situations
  • You have a good understanding of āhuatanga Maaori and an understanding of basic te reo Maaori
  • You are highly proficient at building and managing complex relationships
  • You can drive team targets and organisational objectives
