Do you have a passion for heritage properties and want to make a meaningful contribution to their conservation? Heritage New Zealand has an exciting opportunity working across some of Wellington's iconic historic buildings.

Facilities Coordinator Old Government Buildings & Chevening – Wellington

Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is Aotearoa New Zealand's leading bicultural heritage agency. We provide recognition, protection, and support for heritage places throughout the country. We look for individuals with enthusiasm and skill to manage the diverse needs of the properties in our varied heritage portfolio. These roles sit within dynamic regional teams that champion heritage – making it relevant for current and future generations.

We're looking for a Facilities Coordinator to oversee two unique Wellington heritage buildings: Old Government Buildings and Chevening Flats. Working closely with the Manager Heritage Assets Central Region, the Facilities Coordinator will focus on the ongoing maintenance and relationship needs of these historic properties. You'll be working towards ensuring and planning for their long-term future as well as responding to the variety of challenges that can crop up in heritage buildings.

We're looking for a team member with experience in facilities or property management, who is passionate about heritage and excited by the opportunity to enhance and protect these buildings by working alongside key stakeholders and contractors.

The person we're seeking will be an excellent communicator and problem solver with experience in operational and project management. Great relationship building skills, high levels of organisation, and attention to detail are essential. Our ideal person will enjoy getting stuck into big maintenance projects and will be a positive contributor to team cohesion and cooperative work.

Experience in facilities or property coordination or another relevant field is required. Experience in managing contracts and contractors, and stakeholder management is particularly beneficial, as is a proven history of working in a collaborative environment. Experience in heritage property management would be an advantage.

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing, multi-talented team in a stimulating environment.
