Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
We are looking for an experienced executive assistant to support two busy Directors in our Policy and Sector Performance Group. In this role, you are able to be their partner in identifying priorities, fielding communications and ensuring their time is spent in the right places (and knowing when and when not to pull them out of a meeting!)

Kōrero mōu | About you
Using your great organisational and time management skills, you will be exceptional at email and diary management.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy of Office 365 – including being able to write, routing communications well, and turn notes into solid documents
  • Ability to take initiative and work under pressure

Ko wai mātou | Who we are
Manatū Taonga is a relatively small ministry with a broad mandate, wide reach and a big heart. With around 150 staff, we operate a lean and flat structure, with the added advantage of knowing everyone by name.

Our work is diverse – we support many of Aotearoa's art, media, heritage and sports organisations; we also advise government on cultural matters and provide historical and heritage resources for everyone to access. We work to promote a confident and connected culture and to support more New Zealanders to connect with the culture and heritage of Aotearoa.

  • We have a leadership role across the cultural sector. We work with our funded agencies and partners to help shape national conversation about New Zealand's culture and heritage.
  • We're a Treaty partner. We work in partnership with Māori and are guided by the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • We're a public sector agency. We work to deliver nationally significant programmes that speak to the heart of our national identity.
